Humans have the ability to move, adapt, and evolve, experiencing emotions, desires, and challenges. To be alive is to have awareness, the potential for joy and pain, and the capacity to shape one's surroundings. It is a dynamic process of survival, connection, and transformation, marked by the rhythms of nature and the passage of time, and most of all being alive is not being dead.
Being dead refers to the end of biological functions that sustain life. It is the cessation of heartbeats, breath, and brain activity. A dead organism no longer responds to stimuli, grows, or heals. There is no awareness, emotion, or consciousness in death. While the body may remain physically present, it begins to decompose as its systems break down. Death marks the conclusion of an organism's existence in the physical world, leaving behind memories, legacies, and a void where life once was. It is the natural counterpart to being alive, inevitable and universal.
