Believing his relationship could affect his career, Roy Mustang breaks up with Edward who is heartbroken by the news, but only says a single 'Whatever' despite the hurt in his eyes leaving Roy's life for good.
Many years later, the raven haired male has come to regret that decision unable to keep a relationship together, wondering what became of the blond whom he had hurt years earlier while spending the day with Hawkeye.

(This sounds very similar to my other Royed story 'The Love We Had' plot wise, but it's a little different trust me...)

I had to admit, he was cute. His eyes sparkled nervously and his lips were a lovely shade of natural red. He had his arms crossed over his chest, a gesture that could possibly get him knocked out in this place. He looked as though he could fake a tough guy but at heart he was gentle. I had good instincts and they were screaming to steer clear of this guy. Why? Because he would break my heart. Why is that all the best relationships happen at the strangest of times? Laurel meets Trey inside of a Juvenile Detention Centre and the two of them become closer than anything. For Laurel, Trey was the first friend in her life. But for Trey, he intended for Laurel to be his last. Trey is heartbroken when Laurel leaves the Centre and moves away from town, never to see him again. Laurel has runaway from her foster parents, changed her name and even the colour of her hair. She's created a whole new persona for herself and never wants to revisit the past, but what happens when the most unlikely thing happens? What happens when Trey moves in just around the corner?
