Dustin Marley has lived by two philosophies in life. Never break a promise, and walk the path of life by yourself. To stay out of trouble and to avoid people finding out about his past. Moving from place to place makes this pretty easy. But when Hopewell makes him promise to try to make this foster home different, he is forced to drop that motto and give this foster home with the Miles a chance. Will this time be different though? Or will he just have to run right back to Hopewell and the other foster kids because his past won't stay where it belongs?

All is well in their samll world until the day the girls collide with the rich of Charity, Connecticut. They attend the local school & try to fit in but everyone knows where they live & the circumstances of why they are there. Unaware that the towns gossip is targeting the girls as unworthy & not respectable they each struggle to fit in & to achieve the popularity & happiness that they desire. Sometimes at a high cost. In the tough times that lie ahead will the girls fall victim to the towns gossip? Or will they learn to trust in the people they care for & who care about them by discovering the true meaning of friendship & family? I am posting the first four chapters of my book The Girls of Charity here on Wattpad. The full book can be purchased online. I always make sure to disclose that even though I work long and hard hours on all my books that they are by no means perfect. There are mistakes from grammar and punctuations. The Girls of Charity is my first self-published book and when I wrote it, I didn't have a great program on my laptop to help me make corrections as best as I possibly could. However, this version, I am pretty sure, is the revised edition I had resubmitted last summer but however more-than-likely might have mistakes also. I apologize in advance if you feel you have wasted your time and or money on my works. Thanks

"Stars, hide your fires; Let not light see my black and deep desires. The eye wink at the hand, yet let that be Which the eye fears, when it is done, to see." - Shakespeare People make mistakes. People break rules. People even break the law. Sure, we aren’t perfect creatures but the thing about people is that we usually have pretty good reasons behind those bad decisions. And another thing about people is that they tend not to care about reasons as much as actions. Hallie Rhodes has found this out the hard way. No, she’s not proud of the decisions that she’s made that may have put her at odds with the law, but she had her reasons. Not that anybody cares about reasons. The way Hallie saw it, she had no choice except to forge the documents to get herself and her two younger brothers out of an abusive foster home. She has had a lot of tough breaks in her life. She’s only eighteen but she already has custody of her two younger brothers and to make ends meet, she’s taken on a full-time job along with balancing her senior year of high school. Strong, determined, and mature- Hallie is ready for whatever life throws at her. Except for Tate Conner, who is the exact opposite of Hallie. Lazy, entitled, immature, and cocky. Fresh out of reform school and on parole, he is the epitome of a bad influence, which is why Hallie is outraged when she notices that her younger brother is starting to befriend Tate. As they continuously but heads, Hallie starts to wonder just how put-together she really is.

At a young age, Loren Areno lost her mom to cancer. Not long after, her dad was sent to jail. Mrs. Curtis let her stay with them since she was good friends with her mom, but when Loren was 15, Mrs. Curtis sadly passed away too. The brothers still let Loren stay with them but she always had the feeling they hated her. After a severe car accident, Loren pretended to be mute to see if they acted different. This also happened to be around the time her dad was getting out of jail and she has to make a life changing decision... stay with the Curtis', or move hundreds of miles away with her dad.
