The title Pirate Queen is one rarely uttered, and only with the utmost reverence. For she is the being of nightmares, the threat whispered by mothers to keep disobedient children in line. She is the maiden, adorned in leather, with long black hair cascading down her petite form and a cutlass on her hip. Few who have seen her face have lived to tell of it, and none would suspect the sweet, gentle Fiora Cavanna to be the ruthless cutthroat of legend.
Prince Leopold has lived his entire life secluded from the horrors of the world. Although he has trained his whole life to master swordcraft and diplomacy, he lacks real world experience. The rumors of the Pirate Queen and other creatures of nightmare were just that: rumors. Until the day that legend becomes reality, and the paths of prince and pirate cross.
Warning, this novel will get violent, as is the nature of piracy. ;)
**Update: Chapters 1-5 rewrites are up!**
The first book in the Tales of the Serpentine Isles series.
The Serpentine Isles is a happy place, ruled by a gracious queen and her 4 duchesses. It's so wonderful there that nothing bad should ever happen. Right? Well, there is this tiny problem called Camelonia. This kingdom is lorded over by a vicious king and his 4 cruel dukes. This king will stop at nothing to take over the Serpentine Isles and the magic it provided it's protector's with. What will happen when the duchesses have to combat the evil forces of Camelonia?
Duchess June is perfectly happy to stay in the castle fulfilling her duties as the Grand General. Torturing prisoners, making sure the guards stay in line, sentencing criminals and so forth. She's perfectly content to practice her ninjato and tessen in her spare time. Her routine is the same every day, it hasn't changed in 5 years. So, what happens when Duchess June's world is turned on it's head and she's forced to go on a voyage to establish trade routes with other countries. Then, she's kidnapped by Camelonia! This adventure will have everything from torture to romance to betrayal. Even the death of a friend.
There will be gore and blood so just be warned. You aren't obligated to read this book, so feel free to go and read anything else. I haven't marked it as mature, because it's not too gruesome. But, just be warned if your squeamish. Maybe don't read.
