Ariella "Elle" Lewis had grown up around and studied magic her entire life. Always perfecting her skill and technique, she had loved magic. She even planned on following in her family's footsteps and join the Magical Counsel, helping keep order over their town and keep the paranormal beings away that threaten the peace of their home. However, these plans quickly get tossed away with her parents decision to move her family to Florida. There have been kidnappings lately on the eighteenth birthday of many witches, the thought of vampires being behind it strong. With Elle's eighteenth birthday quickly approaching, her parents feared the same would happen to her. So they move to the sunniest town they could, in hopes of protecting her. . .

Elle hates their new town, and not being able to practice her magic. She hates her school, her classes, her teachers. She practically hated everything about the sunny town of Roseville, but when she starts getting close to the children of her new neighbors, Carrington and Ethan, Elle begins to like the town and even doesn't mind not being able to practice magic. . .

Fast forward to a few nights before her eighteenth birthday when a mysterious female appears and attempts to kidnap Elle, claiming she's the key to Project Pandemonium.  Elle, not knowing what the girl was talking about, tries to use her magic to defend herself, but fails and almost gets knocked out by her kidnapper, when an over-sized white wolf appears and rescues her.

Life just gets hectic after that when Elle is thrown into an all out race for her life and secrets are brought to the light as she learns more about Project Pandemonium.

What is Project Pandemonium? Why is Elle the key? And why didn't her parents ever mention the secret that she finds out they're hiding?
