They are seen as people in black.
Every criminal alive has heard of them.
Every mafia live in fear of them.
Every citizen has only heard rumors of them.
Every police officer knows better than to disrupt their missions.

They are the Nightwalkers.

There is one rule obvious. "Stay away from the NIGHTWALKERS."

-An Extract From the Story-
Alexie had known Sheila for almost twelve years now. The first time they had met, they were innocent, carefree three-year-olds. She also remembered how Sheila - who lost both her parents at the age of five - had stood at the funeral by herself, grieving silently with her shaking heart, until her uncle had arrived. She remembered her friend's expression on that day; it haunted her. Those once-bright eyes had lost their shine, as if she were walking among the dead. Greeting the people there and murmuring "thank you for coming", this ink-dark soul had stood out among the other people with her silent paleness and beauty.

Alexie still remembered the way Sheila had quietly smiled at everyone. What no one noticed was that her smile had looked forced.

Without her mother's guidance, Valerie has cultivated her fire magic on her own and she makes no effort to keep her powers hidden. Although Rhia is immediately annoyed by Valerie's blatant use of magic, she can't deny the instant magnetism between them. But amidst their magical connection, a dark presence looms over Oakriver. Unsettling visions from Rhia's grandmother and dangerous sleepwalking episodes throw into question Valerie's past and what role her presence plays in the strange happenings.
