The root words of post mean after, and mortem mean death. The full adverb is after-death. Watch the main character go through his afterlife; watching his family and friends struggle through there lives after he has committed suicide and the effects of it.
This book is meant to show that people care about you and to help that even if you commit suicide that there are after-effects

Something Happened...
"Please.." she couldn't say anything more. Her sobs didn't let her. Roman looked at her with an evil smile, not showing any sign of mercy. "I am not letting you run away like you did that night. Trust me, I'll make sure your life is miserable. I want you to feel the same pain as I am feeling right now." He roughly let go of her and Bailey lost control in her legs. She was about to fall but he held her by her arm leaving her dangling and spoke, "Accept your crime and rot in jail. If I see you roaming around freely in the city as if you haven't done nothing wrong, I will kill you! And destroy everyone and everything around you. Tragedy can happen to anyone, anytime and anywhere, and the saddest part about that truth is that tragedy is unavoidable. No one can prevent a natural disaster from happening. No one can prevent death from knocking on their doorstep - if it's an accident, or a sickness - it cannot be prevented, and it cannot be avoided. You never know on which day tragedy will come knocking on your front door. You never know who it would strike next - if it would be you, or someone else, or someone who is very close to you. The thing is, with tragedy, it doesn't ask questions before it strikes. It just does. River and Sophia were two people who experienced the same tragedy: loss, but their stories were very different from each other, but they shared the same pain of losing someone they loved, someone who was close to them. I want to die. No, not that, I want to feel the sensation of death. I want to know what it's like for after death. I've always been intrigued by it ever since I was five. I watched a movie where a kid can see dead people and the person helping him is already gone. Is that's what's it's like? Do you not know if you're dead or not? My best friend Marnie committed suicide last week and today was her funeral. As I am sad, I'm also jealous. She knows what it's like to be dead, she can answer all of our questions, yet she can't because she is gone forever. Does it hurt more after the death, or does the death hurt the most and it's all rainbows and butterflies after. I'm not depressed, nor am I suicidal. I don't think I've ever been, I thought I was just thinking like everyone else does. Marnie told me I go too deep, she said as deep as an ocean and I've tried to swim to the bottom.
