[COMPLETE] Time is a funny thing; the past, the future; it's all mixed up.
Adam Coker lives and works in New York, and he's on a short vacation to visit his family in Ibadan after 9 years of being away from them, after the traumatic death of his twin brother, Sam.
Simi is a Nigerian bred, independent and upcoming singer in Abuja. Her music brings her to Ibadan for a music festival at the same time as Adam where they walk into each other. After her performance she chooses to stay for a short break in Ibadan and Ada, her manager slash friend sets her up to live with her childhood friend, Tiara.
It's a shock when she finds out Tiara who later becomes her friend is Adam's sister and they have to live together in the same house for some days, across from each other. Different events, characters and secrets unfold, the past is revisited, undeniable sparks fly around between Simi and Adam, bodies meet, hearts dance, blah blah... the rest is history ...
...well, until reality sets and it's time to return to their separate ways, worlds apart.
"Sarauniya!" I said almost loudly but not enough for my friend Bilal to hear, "who is she?"
"Aaliyah. She's the late Alhaji Mujib's daughter. " Bilal said seeming uninterested with the topic.
"Ina gidan su?" I asked, sounding a bit like a crazy stalker.
"Ka kamu da ciwon so ko?" He asked as a smile spreads across his face, "They live in Asokoro district. Remember Aunty Shamsiyya? The place isn't far from your habibty's home too."
"Ok, thank you. Allah ya maka albarka."
"Let me know when to be expecting an invitation card." Hamza said while trying to stifle his laughter but fails woefully and I smack him on his arm as payback, joining him to laugh too.
I wanted to follow her and speak to her but I heard the music start, signaling the commencement of Bilal's cousin Nadiya and her groom; Saleem's overpriced dinner party for both families.
