Mariley Sanders has been running since she first could stand. Instead of walking a few steps forward only to fall face first, when Mariley was a baby, she ran and fell backwards onto the hard flooring of her family's cottage. When she was a bit older, instead of facing the cruel punishment from the Principle at her school for hitting Brittley Mooreson, she ran all the way to that little cottage in the woods. As she grew to be a teenager, she ran outside at night to sneak off to her friends' houses. And even now, as she is older, she is still running. But this time, she's running from her past...and the kingdom. For she has committed treason and murder, for she has assassinated Queen Amuor.
