Ellie is 14 years old and recently orphaned. Both her parents  were killed when they were in Germany. They were stuck in Germany and were in hiding since 1938. During those years Ellie learned how to fend on her own and stay in hiding with help of her friend Raziel Schmidt. Fortunately they survived. On their journey fleeing to France they are rescued by a female officer, who is a translator, Claire Debois. On Ellie's parents will she was to go live with her uncle she never met. She doesn’t know her uncle Joseph, but she must find a way back to America to find him. Her father and her uncle got in a fight long ago and swore never to speak again. When France is attacked, Debois is ordered to flee to England and find the lieutenant Josy, of the1st marine division and travel back to the U.S with them.All Rights Reserved

We know how it went and how it ended, seen everything there was to see, and read every thought. To sum it all up, it's a story about an unlikely pairing that falls in love. One fell first, and the other fell harder- fell so fucking hard that it destroyed them. They weren't meant for each other, not even close. Some years have gone by. New jobs were worked, and new relationships were explored. But life has a funny way of making you face your past one way or another.
