I could never alleviate the pressure from my shoulders. 

Surrounded by the dense forest filled with unknown threats I was brought back to the reality of the pressure of my situation. I did not have time to contemplate unnecessary feelings. My responsibility was to this pack and it was my duty to protect every wolf under my care. 

Until I found my mate, I had the obligation of ensuring my pack remained one cohesive unit. It was a Lunas job to be a nurturing caring figure for the pack. 

Just because I was a woman didn't mean those qualities came naturally to me. In fact, emotions were incredibly difficult for me to portray to others.

As my hands once again rested on my forehead in frustration, I felt the shine of tears glistening in my eyes. More than anything I needed my mate.
