Sam Winchester began working at Dandy's Candies when he was 14 years old, when John moved his boys into the last house on Main Street and married Bobby Singer. Now he was 23, and though the shop didn't get much traffic anymore, he still made enough to keep the lights on and fend off his brother's offers to move him out to Texas to babysit his nieces and nephews.
Gabriel Novak had just moved into town and was wandering about when he found the candy store. He loved sugar and anything that tasted sweet. He had been taking care of his mother since he was 17 years old. Now that he was 25, she encouraged him to go out and explore the world, even it meant moving away.
