Reverend John Hale, a person of the Salem Witch Trials, is a peace loving man. Though he chose to hang seventeen people by his signature, he slowly began to speak out against such trials. But once he spoke out, many of the people for the Witch Trials yelled at him to shut up about it. Which caused him to be silent for many lines... Samuel Parris is the worst of them all with the yelling. Whenever Parris yells at Hale, his eyes go blurry as he tries to hold in tears, especially when they keep cutting him off. He's trying to save innocent lives, dammit. In The Crucible, Mary Warren accuses John Proctor of Witchcraft, and that's when Hale has had ENOUGH. He yells that he's quitting the court, and he goes to where they're holding Proctor, in the dungeons of the jail. Beating him. Torturing him. Hale walks in, and he stops at seeing how Proctor looks...
