Judah shuddered underneath my fingertips. My skin scorched his. "This is not prudent," he said, eyes fluttering closed. Butterflies stuffed my stomach. His hands drifted up my arms, icy and electrifying. "This is not a good idea."
"I know."
"The risk is much too steep for you."
"I know."
"Truly, I don't know if - if I - if -"
"Then stop."
He froze. My stomach's butterflies suspended in midair. He held the corner of my jaw with two fingers. His cold breath washed over my chin, down my neck. Seconds and space slipped between us, but this time, I knew he would break down first.
