Ever since the accident that left Rae Hotaru completely deaf, she hasn't quite been the same. She wasn't as outgoing to everyone she met, though she sure tried to be, and mostly stuck to Haruhi Fujioka's side, especially since they lived in the same house with Haruhi's father. However, after the shocking discovery that both herself and Haruhi would be accepted into Ouran Academy, her life seemed to brighten up all over again.
