Genetycy i wraz z innymi laborantami tworzą genetycznie zmodyfikowaną hybrydę poprzez połączenie genów dwóch dinozaurów. Dinozaur zwany Indominus Rex jest przerażający, a pewnego dnia przez jeden błąd ucieka z wybiegu powodując tym samym panikę i chaos w całym parku.....

Ześlizgnęła się cichutko z dachu i ruszyła piaskową dróżką wijącą się pomiędzy domami. Wiedziała, że nie powinna opuszczać wioski nocą, ale coś ją ciągnęło." Młoda kobieta przystaje bez oporu, obawia się jedynie reakcji nastoletniej córki, którą kocha całym sercem, zupełnie jakby kochała ją za dwoje, za stale nieobecnego ojca. Nowe życie zaczyna się samymi kłopotami. Jedynym wsparciem jest dla Laury przyjaciółka z biura - Mégane. Szereg nieoczekiwanych okoliczności skłoni młodą kobietę do zajęcia się remontem olbrzymiego kamiennego domu, który zostawiła po sobie krewna matki. Zagubiona, zmęczona wydarzeniami Laura podejmuje się tych prac przede wszystkim ze względu na Emmę. Dom leży w pięknej okolicy i niedaleko od morza. Laurze do razu podoba się w Bretanii. Pomimo ciążącej samotności, wkłada całą swoją energię w prace remontowe. Emma udaje się z ojcem na południe kraju, do Arles, gdzie ma spędzić pierwszy miesiąc wakacji letnich. Na początku swojego pobytu Laura widuje więc jedynie kota sąsiadów. Dopiero wizyta Mégane podniesie ją nieco na duchu. Nowe otoczenie to także nowe znajomości: mili sąsiedzi, energiczna sprzedawczyni Rose i wreszcie Erwan, na którego Laura natknie się już w czasie pierwszego pobytu w Trélévernie. Natarczywe orzechowe spojrzenie będzie ją prześladowało przez długie tygodnie wywołując głównie uczucie irytacji. Uczucie, które z upływem czasu zniknie bezpowrotnie. Długą serię tarapatów zastąpią nowe, spokojniejsze dni i Laura wreszcie zrozumie, że drugi kawałek życia wcale nie musi okazać się gorszy.
