Even in 2018, it's really hard to be a woman. It's tiring, confusing, incredibly frustrating and even scary at times. Throughout History, many powerful women have stood up in the face of injustice to fight for coming generations and yet, women are still degraded and reduced every single day, and this is particularly so for women of colour.
Are you a woman who is just fed up? Never feel like you're enough? Always being questioned and interrogated? Always having to defend yourself?
Well not anymore.

This blog delves deep into the underlining issues that many women face and it explores why women still have to struggle daily against sexism, patriarchy, rape culture and much more. If you are a woman, I guarantee you will relate to many of the pertinent themes in the chapters. I'd like to share as much of my own experiences and knowledge and aim to open up the mentalities of both women and men to eliminate issues that hinder our lives every single day.

People around the world suffer for being born with a sex, for associating with a gender, for having darker skin, for having different beliefs, or for simply loving someone. Is there really nothing we can do other than being persecuted endlessly for who we are? None of us asked for being here, for having curly hair, for being born in the wrong body, for being raised with a different culture. And despite still living, we are mocked, put aside, looked down on, and spat at. Just for being different. Is this what the human race was put on Earth to do? To hate on its own kind? * For a school project I'm writing short stories about different minorities or discriminated people. Each story takes place somewhere in the U.S. even though hate is worldwide. The characters live their daily lives explaining how they make it through the day. I'm trying to show what feelings people have when out in certain situations and bring awareness to my surroundings about people not feeling good in their shoes. I try not to put the blame on certain people and I try to stay away from stereotypes. But of course it isn't always easy. I hope I won't be offending anyone, and if I am please excuse me and explain to me how I could change my texts to make them better. The girl smiled at her, not knowing who she was. "You look like a princess. You have nice hair and blue eyes that look like a dragon gave them to you." Princess Zahra gave a shaky laugh, wondering if the girl knew she had the same, glowing eyes as herself. "Well, I think you look like a princess too." She shook her head. "I don't want to be a princess. I want to be a warrior." --- Like any world, Rova is plagued with issues such as social disbalances, gender inequality and pirates. It is also included in a 20 year war. Zahra, the princess of Rova, is unaware of these problems because of her sheltered lifestyle within the palace walls. Her only worries are the temper of her little sister, Jaylyn, and the fear of disappointing her parents, the King and Queen. However, her views are tampered with as she is kidnapped and pulled into the lifestyle of pirates where she is exposed to the class discriminations, the poverty, magic and the raw power that people, especially women, can have when driven and determined. I saw the corner of his mouth twitch and before I could comprehend anything he tightened his hold on my throat, my mouth was already slightly open so he had the opportunity to shove a gun in my mouth. I tried to move back away from him but he tightened his hold and shove the gun farther down my throat causing me to make loud gurgling choking sounds, the taste of metal, fire and smoke spread into my taste buds causing me to gag, that's the same gun he had shot my father with. "Do you have trouble speaking? I'll help you talk my love, there must be something stuck in your throat?" He said shoving the gun deeper, by now the base of his pistol was pressed down against my lips as I choked loudly. I screamed and jumped in fright as he pulled the trigger. Nothing, No bullets were fired. The force of the gun shook my whole body. I gargled and shook my head no repeatedly, but he wasn't satisfied. he squeezed my throat and completely blocked my airway. By now I started panicking more as I could no longer breathe, what does he want me to say?? please just stop this. "I merry gyou" I somehow managed to gargle those words out hoping he hears them. My mouth tastes like metal and I could taste blood as well, the force of the gun being shoved down my throat scratched the inside of my mouth.Complete

It's Okay to Use Your Big Girl Voice
Inside you will find a mixture of both, extremely RAW and refreshingly HEALING accounts of my personal war with my past. Unfortunately, Childhood sexual abuse is far too common, and many of share similar experiences. Looking back, what I could have used more than anything was someone to tell me "You're not alone, there is a lightness through the darkness, you can heal from this and most importantly don't EVER stop telling your story to make others comfortable". I've learned that silence is the best weapon for a predator, and I for one, have never been really good at doing what I'm told. I don't intend on starting now. I wear my scar as reminder that I hold the power in my own story, it is mine to tell and I won't make myself sick keeping quiet because my truths are hard to swallow, other people's comfort is not my problem.
