Nick's involvement in the dangerous conspiracy of his  missing parents related to the worldwide calamity by non human experiment had led Nick a serious state where his fate maybe the same as his parents. After learning the incident of the crash in 1 year his plan to reach HAEE had not only made his life misfortune. But his hasty decision had affected Melissa's life as well by insensibly making her involved. 

Their relationship went downwards upon their aim to escape from being captured. Kian, Nick's cousin, have always been concern to Nick's findings about his parents. His involvement were nothing heroic except the fact to save Nick's life.
