What is love? What starts it? What makes that certain person enter your mind, and stick there like gum on the bottom of your shoe?

Based on somewhat true events, and ideas, I hope this story can provide at least a touch of light on the subject.

When a young merman rescues a human prince from drowning, he is captured by a vengeful dragon. Originally meant as a ploy to bait the prince, but perhaps grows into something more. What starts out as a deep hatred and fear, can blossom into a deep and powerful love. And what originally was meant to be damnation, can become protection.

Author's note: Although based upon true events, obviously I wasn't ever a merman and wasn't captured by my best friend. However, the true feelings and emotions are plentiful. Please go into this story with an open mind, and that not all love works out in the end. No matter how true it may be.
