Elle was the shy member of the Croods family, not liking violence and hunting. Instead, she would much rather be spending her time exploring, and making friends with unnamed animal species. If she couldn't do that, she'd be hanging out with her older sister, Eep, and younger siblings, Thunk and Sandy.

At times, she felt suffocated by her overprotective dad, sassy grandma, and bubbly mom. The only time she seemed to feel free was when she was alone, so that's how she envisioned her life: lonely.

So what happens when a stranger comes along with his companion, Belt? Will Elle finally have someone? Or will she lose him to her fierce sister, Eep?
