"Who are you?" I called out to the man standing a few feet away from me. He was leaning against my small cottage and smoking a blunt. I wasn't expecting him to hear me, so I jumped back when he stared dead straight into my eyes.

He regarded me silently for a moment, gazing into my eyes as if he knew me. He smirked slightly and blew out some smoke before he responded. "I am Death."

Over 150 years ago, Charlotte woke up to sounds of the forest surrounding her. She remembered nothing of her past life, except her affinity for nature. She's lived her life alone in her thoughts, always on the outside looking in.

A lonesome girl roams the earth in hopes of someone finally hearing her voice. To hear the longing of companionship that she wishes for so desperately. To hear her woes and all the questions she has. The most important being, 'why can nobody see me?'

Little did she know, Death was always listening.
