Dean looked up from the desk and over at me, and instead of smiling, he just...looked at me. I looked back, wondering what he was thinking. Finally, a small, satisfied smile ghosted around his lips, and something glowed at me from his eyes. It was warm and inviting and I wanted to be a part of it in this weird, connection sort of way. I blinked slowly and half smiled before looking back down at my sandwich. I needed to not get all emotional and read too much into things.

He was probably just wondering if I was going to finish my sandwich...no super-duper deep connection moment...

When I looked back up he was looking back at his book and arguing with Sam about the pronunciation of kitsune. And suddenly, even though nothing outwardly had changed, I felt the warmth inside me begin to dim. I leaned back into the couch cushions and felt the lostness start to creep back into my soul, it's icy fingers wrapping around my heart and lungs, bringing my anxiety to life.

I sighed heavily as I realized I had no control of these emotions. They were going to ride me and tear me to shreds and there was nothing I could to but let the hurricane rage. I felt the tears begin in my eyes and I set my sandwich down, rising to go find a bathroom. No one needed to see me cry.

"Dean, please..." I stand frozen, staring at the man I love. His legs stride toward me, closing our distance in seconds. He hovers over my petite figure, his intimidation only making me feel smaller. "This isn't you." "THIS IS THE NEW ME!" He shouts before grabbing my hair and pulling me close. "The old, weak, pathetic, scared little boy you knew is long gone. It's only me, and I'm not going anywhere..." I watch as he flashes his black, demonic eyes. My hands fly up to his entangled one in my hair. I yank at it, struggling to be set free. Anger and lust take over his once expressionless face. His sharp gaze travels down to my shirt. Nodding at it, he says, "Take it off." My eyes widened, shocked by the words that came out of his mouth. I part my lips to say no, but nothing comes out. His unoccupied hand roughly grips my chin, forcing me to look into his dark green eyes. His thumb firmly drags across my bottom lip as he licks his own. My heart pounds louder as I desperately try to escape his grasp, knowing the sinful act he's planning to commit against me. "Do it!" He yells, his voice resonating off the walls to make it seem louder, driving me to jump uncontrollably. His gaze rakes over my face, taking notice of my fear. A slow and sinister smile spreads across his lips. A sick feeling descends into the pit of my stomach, knowing my fear is pleasing him. I swallow hard when I hear him calmly but sternly say, "Or I'll do it for you." {All Supernatural's characters and it's storylines belong to Kripke. Warning: If you haven't finished all fifteen seasons of Supernatural, I suggest you don't read this book as there are spoilers. Now if you don't care about that, please with all means continue. ------------------------------ Five years ago, Dean Winchester died. The world kept turning. His name became a whisper, a ghost story, a legend fading into the dark. But legends don't stay buried. Dean is back, confused, alive, and with no memory of what came after his last hunt. Not even Heaven has answers. As he searches for the truth, he begins to uncover something darker than death itself. An unfinished story that never should have been hidden. Because somewhere out there is a secret that ties to him in ways no one saw coming. A secret powerful enough to tear apart the balance between Heaven, Hell, and everything in between. And when the truth comes to light, Dean will realize that this fight isn't just about saving the world. It's about what was left behind. Sneak Peek: "But I never knew about you. Dani, if I had.... I would've been there. No questions asked." The more he talks the tighter my throat gets. The lump there is too big to swallow. My mouth suddenly goes dry. Everything inside me freezes. "What?" The word slips out fractured and small. A kid's voice. Not mine. "I'm so sorry," Dean says and I feel a crack come from inside my chest. My eyes begin to sting on their own record, I blink them away fast, angry at myself. "No." The word trembles. I don't even recognize my own voice anymore. "No, you're lying." I clear my throat from the sudden heaviness there. Dean flinches but doesn't back down. "I'm not." "You're not my father." I say sternly, voice filled with determination. My whole life, I've lived without a father. That was the deal. No one to lose. No one to miss. No one to disappoint me. But he's already done all three. ---------------------------------- See what happens next in What Was Left Behind. Was number 1 in #deanwinchester

Charlotte wasn't supposed to exist. As the daughter of an angel and a demon, her very existence is a threat to the delicate balance between Heaven and Hell. But after tragedy strikes, she's left alone in a world that doesn't know what to do with her. She never had a normal life. From losing her parents at five, bouncing through the foster system, and running away at twelve, she figured she'd seen it all- until she got caught up with two demon-hunting brothers, Sam and Dean Winchester. What started as a chaotic sibling dynamic of petty squabbles, bad road trip music, and questionable snack choices took a sharp turn when an angel named Castiel dropped a bombshell: Charlotte isn't human. Torn between a past she can't escape and a future she doesn't understand, Charlotte must navigate a world of monsters, angels, and demons while dealing with her own struggles, her unusual abilities, and the simple yet impossible hope of finding where she belongs. With dark moments that cut deep and the classic Supernatural humour that keeps the darkness at bay, this is a story about survival, family, and what it truly means to be human-even when you're anything but.
