Samantha Mane used to be best friends with Carter Brown, which proved to cause her a lot of trouble even when he was around. But when he left things got worse. Carter left town at the age of ten, leaving Samantha to defend herself against the cruel Derek Herry.

However, seven years on Carter is back and Samantha isn't the same sweet innocent girl he remembers her to be. She's angry, insecure and bitter as a result of Derek's games and she still has to deal with him before she can even think about Carter.

Carter has his work cut out as it proves difficult to get through the barriers Samantha has built up over the years.

Samantha and Kei were neighbors and classmates for years. She has being in love with him for a while. So when his parents decided to move to Japan, Samantha was left with a broken heart. She worked so hard to get a scholarship to spend her last trimester of high school in Tokyo. But when she succeeded, she was surprised by a different Kei, cold and cruel. She didn't recognize her childhood friend anymore. Has she lost her first love forever? *************************** Our lips were locked for a while before I pulled away. When I did, the smirk on Kei's face had disappeared alright. My lips curled upward, happy with the reaction I got. But a few seconds later, Kei's smile almost split his face in two. The only thought I could hear in my head was 'What have I done?' "Well this only proves my theory of you being a pervert." The heat on my face was getting unbearable. "You know, this still doesn't answer my question, how much do you like me?"
