December 20th, 1995 "What's wrong with him? I think he seems interesting for me to take, don't you think?" I mumbled to Mother Maria. "Miss Edwards with all due respect you would not want that child." She trembles. "And why would that be?" Silence. "He is the devil's son." I smirk. "Well you clearly do not want him here Mother Maria. This is a church after all. Why don't you let me take him? Think of it as a thank you for when you saved me as a child. Don't you remember, when my mother and father abused me unconscious everyday? Don't you remember, when they would lock me up in the basement everyday after my 'deserved' beating and never fed me a thing? Only a loaf of bread if I got lucky. Don't you remember?" I hissed. "Yes. I remember. I found you on the street's laying there. Skin and bone. Bruised and burned. Broken and in pain. I remember." "Well?" Silence. Minutes felt like hours waiting for a response. My patience growing thin by the second. I sighed in frustration and walked towards the exit. "Wait!" And I do. Say it. Say it. Say it. "You can have him." I chuckled. "Why the sudden change of mind?" "Well..."

"Thanks to you. There are other ways witches can hurt vampires, aren't there?" My eyes traveled shortly to the warlocks, Daniel and Zachary, and I shook my head. "She'll burn me alive! I'm not going in there." "You're overacting," Henri said with a dramatic eye roll with a worth of a slap across his face. Lucky for him, I kept my hands at my sides.
