'What is he saying?'

'To put it simply... you have to marry me, Carson.' He looked me dead in the eyes, he definitely wasn't joking... but what did that even mean?

'I- I don't understand.'

'Your dad, whom you adore so much, gave you to me so he could save himself from the people who wanted to kill him.'

I ran my hand through my hair, struggling to believe what this complete asshole was uttering. Who would even want to kill him?

'He's-' I gulped. 'He's dead now, so it doesn't matter anymore. Whoever wanted to kill him got him already-'

'Well they wouldn't stop at your father-'

'Please shut the fuck up and let me think for half a second!'
