Suffering from the inability to become inebriated has left Riposte Clasicant more cantankerous than usual. The body count is rising, and Pertuli isn't the only one who wonders if Rip's condition is more serious than an unusual curse; with dire results. 
       In Silver Blades novellas, we follow the adventures of an elven swordsman who has neglected duty and honor in recent decades. Often, his peers seek restitution for this debauchery in blood. Only superior skill with a blade and a single-minded devotion to finding his lost love has kept Rip alive thus far. Pertuli, his sarcastic but well-meaning sidekick, is not always sure he is on the right side.
       Silver Blades: Dread Handed takes place after the events in Silver Blades: Prize Fight.

"Two are holding lanterns. I'll tell you when you're too close to them." I heard my friend whisper in my ear. I followed the men as I picked up another branch and waited for the right time to break it. They continued to walk through the forest, turning their heads in every direction as if an animal might lunge at them and rip their throats out. I guess in a way I was going to do that. "Go back a few feet." My friend whispered. I carefully distanced myself from the group and waited. "Where is she?" I quickly snapped the stick as soon as he finished asking the question. They stopped and two soldiers raised their lanterns to shine its light in the darkness. I quickly hid behind a tree before both of them turned where I was. A low frustrated growl came from one of the men, "The girl's playing with us. She's out here following our every move." How paranoia can cloud the mind. At nine years old, Silver decided to leave her village for the forest. Since then, she's been hunted; everyday is a fight for her life, every breath she takes could be her last, but she's determined to stay alive. Her life isn't the kind anyone would want to live but she's managed to survive this long so, what's a few more years?

Eli is witty, talkative and one of the best swordsmen in Battlescape - the online MMORPG he made his profession. He is also suffering, hurt by a string of betrayals that sometimes make it impossible to cling to any sense of normalcy or hopes for happiness, or at least connection. But he is trying. Enter Silver, a dashing pro player who can appreciate Eli's wit, match his game skills and quiet his anxiety. Silver looks like a perfect solution to all his troubles. But is he, though? All will be well in the end, but it's the journey that matters. Please mind the tags for trigger warnings, and be safe. The story is somewhat completed (as in, I have further plot development planned, but it will be more of a "sequel" vibe). This is a spin off of The Prince's Choice and Hunted Queen. I recommend reading those two before this one to get the best experience possible!
