Rhea Donovan is one of the most dedicated students at Corsicana High. Still considered a newbie having moved from Massachusetts a year ago, Rhea constantly tries her hardest to fly under the radar, especially that of the school's male population. She refuses to waste her time on guys, focusing on academics and riding instead.... Ivan Mercer is Corsicana's star football player and the school's ultimate player. With dreams of playing football at the college level, all Ivan needs to do is pass his classes. Unfortunately for Ivan, doing well in school isn't his forte as he often becomes too wrapped up in sports and girls. Everyone knows of Ivan; everyone, that is, except Rhea... After a chance encounter with Ivan one morning, Rhea swears he is the most inconsiderate jerk of a man. Her only hope is that she'll never see him again. However, Rhea isn't so lucky; on the first day of school, she discovers that not only are they in the same class, but they've been partnered together for a project lasting the entire semester! To make matters worse, Ivan won't let their encounter go, incessantly teasing and tormenting her whenever possible....As the year progresses, Ivan and Rhea learn more about each other than they ever imagined they would. This, however, doesn't stop their apparent dislike for each other, and before long, the two are entangled in a full blown battle of the sexes. Yet as much as Ivan and Rhea can't get along, they also can't stand to be away from each other. Will the two learn to work together? Furthermore, will they be able to put the past aside and understand their true feelings for each other? Only time will tell...
