Dorcas Meadowes had always felt out of place in Hogwarts.
Sure she had friends that she loved dearly, but it wasn't the same as having an actual spot - she felt like a jigsaw piece no one knew where fit.
Her parents had divorced many years ago, with her father moving to America and Dorcas having to stay put in Scotland with her mother.

However, when Fifth Year rolled around, Dorcas's father finally wrote to her.
Agreeing (after much convincing) to go stay with Gustave for a few weeks -a sort of trial period to see whether she preferred it over in America-, and she loved it.

Much to the dismay of her friends back at Hogwarts, Dorcas had decided to transfer.
