Princess Catrin doesn't know what she gets herself into when she meets the new servant and his family. Her sixteenth birthday is coming up and her father wants her to get married. Then new servants come. The boy whom she barely gets to know, is seventeen and hates authority. Catrin meets him once and finds him mysterious and handsome. Gabriel, the servant boy, finds her beautiful. Secretly Catrin's falling in love. Then the servant boy is brutally murdered by the queen. The queen murders him because Catrin needs to marry a different man. The queen holds a dark secret that not a lot of people knew. However, she knows that if Catrin does not marry that other man, there will be a huge world war. The world will be gone as everyone knows it. If the queen hadn't murdered the servant boy, him and Catrin would have fallen in love. Pretty soon the queen discovers the boy might not be completely dead. But Catrin is in love and has made up her mind. But will there be a war?
