Jane is a stubborn, opinionated, independant, logic driven woman of twenty-four. A hardened soldier of fortune since the age of sixteen because she repeatedly loses those she grows to love. After months of vacationing in seclusion she emerges, dreading having to deal with humans. Their incessant small talk, overactive emotions, indecisive, and self-destructive behavior grinds her gears. As she enters the closest city she realizes that there aren't many people out but some of the ones that are, weren't people. What are they? She discovers survivors as she travels deeper into the city to find answers and is asked by one to help find her family. Jane eventually agrees while maintaining her mission to find the cause of all the madness. She dislikes the majority of man-kind but makes the decision to try to save what little was left of them. She felt she owed them in some way, due to the life she leads. Action and mystery grow as well as bonds between the survivors during their adventure. They win some and lose some; whether it was members of the group accumulated, the food they fought for, or battles with the hellish beings, causing emotional turmoil but moving on has never been more critical.
