She spends day after day wondering how dying would feel like and all the things she would never get to experience. She's fine with the way people treat her. She ignores everyone else and they don't acknoledge her as well, but then comes along a boy that changes her life forever and she begins to realize that it's not the years you live but the adventure you live in those years.

The idea of this story has hit me square to the face when I watched one of my favorite novellas on television. Leslie Garcia has been a sweet little 9 year old girl and then her world is crushed when she finds out she suddenly has cancer.
