Aiden, being 17 years old is a wolf that sticks out form the rest. In both abilities and personality. Being gender fluid Aiden has mastered cross dressing so there are days they'll be he and other days it'll be she. 
Vance, already 20 is soon to be the alpha and already knows that Aiden is his mate and doesn't know much about him. He also learns that Aiden doesn't know about being his mate so he wants to keep it a surprise for when he becomes 18.
So what better at to make it more fun then mess with Aiden until he realizes the truth. While messing around with him he learns more and more about Aiden until he has to eventually tell his family who have their doubts. While being mated to a genderfluid wolf in itself causes the pack to stir there's also Aiden's abilities that come with a price if used.
