Riley Aker was forced to move to Lykon, Canada by her parents will. Of course, she was old enough to have said no, but they would have guilt tripped her into going anyways. It wasn't all bad though, she would get to see her sister, Olivia, again. Besides, he parents would come to their senses and allow her to go back to Florida without any guilt trips or any fuss.
