Erik: *dives in* *swirl of dark water, hears muted screams* 
Artemis Fowl: *opens eyes for last time, sees him*
Erik: *pleading look, so close to her*
Artemis Fowl: *eyes close, body goes slack*
Erik: *silent scream, swims faster*
