Jake English lives with his grandmother and had found out that his best friend, Dirk Strider had been killed by a vampire. In a small depression, Jake misses school to take a walk. As he walks down the sidewalk, he sees a kid run into the road without looking. A car at full speed headed toward the poor boy. Jake made a tough decision to save the little kid.
