Clair Thomas' life changes on her 17th birthday in the small town of Emerald Brooke, Maryland. She starts having dreams of what is to come but they're not completely clear to her. She then meets up with a 17 year old boy Eric Steel in Misty, Ohio. Eric has dreams that are Clair's but much shorter and is then able to communicate with Clair through the dreams.
