Emma is no goody two-shoes, but she does have some goals in her life, and she's willing to be the best version of herself, in order to realize those dreams.
Dean, on the contrary, is still re inventing himself, since his past is full of his childish mistakes that went too far. His father always tried to cover up, but this time, he must do it himself.
In Emma's goals list, there's a big one, to get an internship at West View's Words: the best editor house in Manhattan. It would seem easy to earn, but having the son of, one of the greatest asociates the company has had, as your competition, means war.
Emma just got into college, meanwhilst it's already Dean's second year. Everybody knows him, but no one seems to notice Emma. Not yet, at least.
However, Dean is known only on his bad side, which is why he wants to work for the West View.
If you're meant to be with someone, then the paths you take don't really matter, do they?
