This is the story of Elizabeth; a small town girl, turned a big city journalist. She's not like a regular journalist; she's deaf. Elizabeth uses American Sign Language (ASL) as her main form of communication. She goes through trials, such as a shocking diagnosis...cancer. Then everything changes when a big city company in Nova Scotia offers her a job, but at home in Newfoundland also offers her a job. She's always wanted to work for the company in Nova Scotia. Will she take the company job, or stay home? Will she be able to be employed as a deaf girl, or just be left with an education but no job?
