She knows she doesn't want a life with the Companions and desires something more...suited to her talents. She's involved in a terrible accident in Riften and then an opportunity arises for Maryse to leave the Companions and take on a new life...but it's nothing like the one she expected. *** This is the second book after The Dragonborn Comes and I HIGHLY reccommend you read it before this.
