The date is the 9th of August 2063- 4 months after the events of enemy territory (shameless self promotion aside) This book is a grittier more down to earth story than the main book(s) as it focuses more on regular people just fighting to survive. Please note there will be direct crossovers to enemy territory even as it focuses on the AFTERMATH of those events.

Important info please read: This story is in a 1st person PoV, chapters come out in full roughly every four days but previews are available in 500 word chunks usually every day. Each chapter is around 2000 words but chapters will stop being released on the 13th of may and resume sometime around the end of the month.

Please feel free to vote or comment as it really helps. If you do have any questions about this book please ask in the comments as i am happy to help.

In case this is the first time you have encountered me the books i write are set in the same universe. I thought I would try my hand at something a little different, I will come back to that book at a later date. Wanted to get some practice in before attempting something bigger (enemy territory)

One night he makes a discovery as he finds a strange being, injured, starved and on the brink of death. Elazar makes the choice to save the small being and nurture it back to health. He's heard many things about humans, many bad things. And although this small creature shares some similarities to the stories, there's also many differences. Desperation, ideals, greed, and hope - they all have a role to play in tearing the galaxy apart. The human race finds itself at the precipice; a mysterious, monstrous force threatens everything in the cosmos, and all the while, the unity of humanity's Empire threatens to shatter just when it is needed most. Never before has extinction been so tangible a possibility, and never before has exceptional courage, intellect, and luck been more needed. This is a story about more than just people, their ambitions, and their conflicts: it is a story about crisis, set in a universe where survival, for any side, and for anyone, may be impossible. It remains to be seen if the popular patriotic saying, "Humanity endures," will remain true - even for a week. -- If you wish you purchase a paperback version of this novel, you can do so on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Humanity-Endures-Evan-Peter-Armstrong/dp/B08P8QK86H. *THE UNEDITED VERSION* Beware of typos, errors, and general mistakes. This is a very, very rough draft. "I live in a place called Compound 4. We are one of ten different compounds placed at strategic locations around the US. It's been thirteen years since the virus overtook humanity, turning about ninety percent of us into zombies. I'm not sure how it started exactly; that's classified information. I do know that in order to save what was left of the human race, the president at the time took a bunch of really smart people and kids and relocated them into new 'protected' cities. My father was one of those really smart people. I was only five at the time, but I knew what was happening." Within the walls of the compound, Jay makes stupid mistakes, mistakes even she doesn't understand, putting everyone inside at risk. All because she can't shoot someone. All because she misses the wind in her hair, the flowers on the hillsides, the sound of crickets at night. All because she's different, the only person untouchable by the Virus. When the mistakes begin to duplicate, and a girl shows up who knows her name, everything begins to change in Compound 4. Highest rank in Science Fiction: #9
