Tyler has never seen colour. Only whites, greys and blacks shade his world, matching his mind and soul.
When Ethan, the new boy, shows up, his world begins to change. A shade of grey so common in his world begins to change and work its way into his life, starting with the posters in the class room and the trays in the cafeteria. One day, Ethan comes to school with his hair the same as the mystery shade that's been filling his world, and Tyler knows he's smitten.
He's not sure he can keep his stoic and reserved facade up, but the thought of breaking down his walls is almost as terrifying as the thought of living the rest of his life the same, miserable person he's always been.

"But what if the cage is the only thing keeping me safe." Ethan pulls back, and for a moment I panic, until he turns around and faces me. He reaches for my face and cradles it in both hands, rubbing his thumbs across my temples.
"That's nonsense," he says, smiling, "you have me."
Order is everything. Her habits aren't quirks, they're survival techniques. And only three people in the world have permission to touch her: Mom, Dad, Fernando.
Then Lando Norris happens.
One moment. One line crossed. No going back.
