Can I tell you a story?
There was once a King who had all the power and wealth he could ever have. He had all the women he could ever want. But his heart was black as he had no kindness and humility for his people who lived at the mercy of those at a higher rank than them. On his 25th birthday, a ball was thrown in his honor, and at the ball, the King wanted to proclaim his "chosen" Queen. His "Queen" was hungry for power, and all she wanted was riches. During the ball, a figure dressed in a black cloak with a symbol on the back walked across the floor. She stepped lightly with a staff at her side. The King met her and demanded what a commoner was doing in his palace. She frowned and asked, "Is your heart made of stone." The King laughed and answered yes and told the guards to throw her out. The girl sighed and said, " So be it." She tapped her staff, and the moon turned to gold, and the wind picked up. The girl mumbled a foreign language to the King, but her message was clear. The King watched as his family and his friends turned to stone. His "Queen" turned to ash and blew away. The King was thrown to the ground by the wind. The wind then settles and the girl walks to the fallen King. "You have a hundred years to try and break your stone heart. You will live with your riches and castle but everything else will be taken. Your mate is the key but if you do not wait may the hellfire burn you," the girl says and she tipped her hood and walked away. The King sat in the mess of statues as the cold and pain he was trying to escape crept in.

I made my way to the kitchen as usual and opened the fridge and grabbed a drink. My mom was usually in here,preparing a snack for my brother and I but today she wasn't.
