Nicholas Emerson is a cold and distant teenager, due to his constant hatred of living such a bored and mediocre life, he acts out in order to give himself a reputation in Vale as "The Archer". Due to him being the complete opposite of his older sister and brother who are both famous Huntsman, he is referred to as the black sheep of his family. However, deep down he is actually very unsatisfied with his life. An unpredictable event occurs where he is given two options by the Headmaster of Beacon Academy, serve several years in a juvenile detention centre or attend Beacon Academy as one of its newest students.
