The world Jason and Alaric live in is bound by ancient rules, and the most important one is that vampires and werewolves are sworn enemies.

Their lives become more entangled as they discover the truth about each other - that Jason is a werewolf and Alaric has been alive for centuries - and have to make the choice between their feelings or the rules of their societies.
