the greatest treasure

pirates?, mermaids?, sirens!? the world of ole was quite an enchanted time. but it was not a time of play children feared going out alone for pirates could appear at any time any where and take them away. men feared loosing their families and women fired loosing their husbands and children. mermaids lived in secret under the waves they called for peace and love but no human could ever get hear their songs for sirens protected all mermaid existence. when ships would sail near a mermaid heaven sirens would appear just beyond rocks singing their songs. to the sailors they would be beautiful women calling to them. as they get closer the sirens are mistaken as mermaids drawing in the sailors close enough for the sirens to kill them. though this risk pirates and sailors continued to try and capture a mermaid for it was the greatest treasure.
