John Laurens loved the beach, and he couldn't narrow down the many reasons why he loved it so much. Maybe because of the access he has or maybe because of the calming waves that would always give him inspiration to draw.
Or maybe because he thought that he was saved by a mermaid when he got lost in the ocean when he was a toddler.
Either way, John would spend hours by the shore and admiring every bit of life in the never ending sea.
Never knew that habit would matched him up with a person who has a different connection with the ocean.

Definitely not the Little Mermaid
At least it wasn't vampires. That was Angelica's only consolation as she sat beside the bath. She glanced the boy lounging in the bath and playing with the bubbles. How did it come to this? Angelica Aubrey had an ordinary life. She lived with both her parents, had two little brothers and had a relatively normal family, with the exception of the twins of course. So how on Earth had she come into possession of a merman?! Laiken is a merman...he prefers the term mermaid though. He just wondered into the aquarium one day and started up a conversation with the obscenely rude turtles. Angelica has no idea how she's supposed to "return him to the ocean" or why he decided to live in her bathtub of all places but it's happened. There was something so inexplicable about this beautiful creature before him. The gills on his neck pulsated with the heaving of his chest. His very pink hair- pastel- trailed in the water around his face and when Changbin looked down- The most beautiful pink tail he had ever laid eyes on. Even In the darkness of the water, the scales glinted and shimmered with hues of pinks and even gold. So, so rare because mermaids and mermen had only ever adorned blue scales to blend with the habitat around them. And maybe Changbin really was hallucinating. Maybe this was just the grim reaper- a really ethereal grim reaper- dragging him down to hell instead of to the surface of the water. Before Changbin could open his mouth and ask 'am I going to die?' His lungs finally gave out on him as he breathed, and inhaled the salty sea around him. Or Changbin is saved by a beautiful merman- and years later, he can return the favor when he finds him injured and unconscious at port.
