No one knows how it happened, why it happened, or even who started it. All we know is it did happen. My mother always told me, and still tells me how lucky we were, to be on this boat, sailing away from the horrors that were occurring on the mainland. A nuclear strike is imminent in 90 minutes, your partner is miles away at work, the kids are across town in school and none of the cell networks are up. Do you have a plan? Meet the Tams, an ordinary American family as they confront a scenario that we are shockingly on the brink of today -complete isolation. They must find their way back to each other and decide what to do next without any information to go on except America is under attack. Yet there are no tanks, planes, or cars to be seen. There are no soldiers on the ground or places to get reliable information. Everyone is acting on instincts, some are leaving out of fear while others still don't believe a war is taking place at all. After the destruction and mayhem, the government arrives with promises of normalcy that clash with rumors of dwindling supplies. Fred's decision to leave with his family leads them on a perilous journey toward Arrow Hall-a sanctuary in the mountains. There, they uncover the truth behind the apocalypse and find unexpected allies.
