It's 1856 in New York City, New York. It's the season, you can smell crops, flowers, and the stench of slavery in full swing. Follow the journey of Rachael Farris, a 13 year old slave girl to her master's, James and Lillian Broening, one of the wealthiest farming families in New York. Their youngest daughter, Margaret, tries to befriend Rachael, even knowing her status is greater than her slave's. It's wrong to be friends, it's wrong to even have a good conversation with a slave, but why is it so hard to change people's minds on the way they view fellow humans?
