There were, and still are six founding families. The Fell’s, the Forbes, the Gilbert’s, the Lockwood’s, the Salvatore’s, and the D'Amico’s.

Everyone knew about the other families, but the D'Amico’s vanished in 1864, around the same time of the Battle of Willow Creek. They believed that the original family made up of Julio D'Amico, his wife Odessa D'Amico and their twin children, Elnora and Clinton D'Amico all died in the battle or disappeared. But they actually moved away before the battle happened. Julio's father was on his deathbed in Portsmouth, Ohio and he had moved the family over there to be with him, but once they heard what had happened in Mystic Falls, they stayed in Portsmouth...until now.

Follow Skylar D'Amico as she tries to help her new friends in Mystic Falls, while trying to protect her family and keep a certain Salvatore in line. But can she brush off his advances while learning more about herself, or will she drown in those crystal blue eyes she adores so much..?
