Melissa Wu has had feelings for the mysterious and brooding new guy in school, 'Jackson', ever since he moved to Hartwell High over a year ago. The two had the opportunity of getting to knowing one another on a friendship level unfortunately, while stranded on a deserted Island when their plane crashed going on a class Eco camping trip. Little did Melissa know, Jackson was getting friendly and confiding with her friend Taylor. 
Just days after their rescue and return home to Los Angeles, Melissa feels that her and Jackson might have something more than just a platonic relationship. But then, Jackson breaks the news by telling her that he and Taylor are in a relationship, leaving Melissa hurt. 
Now, a year and a half later, Jackson and Taylor are still together and Melissa is still heart broken.
Meanwhile, Jackson has been feeling bad about hurting Melissa for a long time and has been trying his best to resume his friendship with her, but with no luck as she is bitter towards him. How can Jackson fix this situation?
